Welcome!

We are the many-headed headed monster.

We’re two historians of early modern England who’ve decided to share our historiographical exploits with the world. In time, we may come up with a proper mission statement, but for now we’ll just refer you to our About page.

We welcome comments and questions on almost anything, just don’t expect us to respond politely to queries about Henry VIII’s wives.

  4. I’m delighted to have rediscovered the Monster after many years. I was awarded an undeserved doctorate in my old age at the University of East Anglia in 2010-11 or thereabouts. I see that UEA is having to make £40 million cuts before the vice-chancellors tea gets colds. Naturally the University as decided to take almost all the cuts from the humanities ; creative writing and history will be the main victims. I do hope those of you who I know have UEA associations, will be able to make suitable comments in high places. And low one’s too.
